Vote NO to Voter Id - Initiative 432

Nebraska Secretary of State Robert Evnen has announced that the constitutional amendment to require a photo ID to vote – Initiative 432 – qualified to appear on the ballot for the Nov. 8 general election. The League of Women Voters has long believed that voting is a fundamental right and not a privilege. We oppose barriers to voting, including requiring a voter photo ID. Vote NO on Initiative 432!

Vote YES to Raise the Wage - Initiative 433

Nebraska Secretary of State Robert Evnen announced that Initiative 433 to increase the state’s minimum wage qualified to appear on the ballot in the Nov. 8 general election.

LWVNE supports an increase in the minimum wage. We believe social policy should  promote self-sufficiency for individuals and families and that the most effective social programs are those designed to prevent or reduce poverty. Increasing the minimum wage will help workers achieve earnings that are adequate to provide for individual and family needs. Vote YES on Initiative 433!
