Second Annual Kim Culp Juvenile Justice Forum Happening on April 24

LWVGO will be hosting the second annual Kim Culp Juvenile Justice Forum from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 at the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center on UNO’s campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

EVENT PURPOSE

The purpose of the forum is to honor the work of Kim Culp, founding Director of the Douglas County Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC), by engaging and informing the community on important issues affecting youth in the juvenile justice system.

Kim developed a myriad of programs through the JAC and nonprofits in Omaha, always with an emphasis on relationship building, cultural competence and understanding the impact of the child welfare system on children’s lives.

After retirement, Kim was active in the League of Women Voters of Greater Omaha, serving as Vice President at the time of her May 2017 death.
